2 Green Witches

Chris and Susan have been friends for over thirty years. Their common interests in nature and mindfulness have naturally drawn them into the mystical world of green witchcraft.

The very act of creating the love spells and witch-crafty projects in this book should help you heal as well. What could be more soothing than a candlelit bath after a stressful day? We’ve got that in here for you, along with twenty-six carefully chosen magical herbs and their accompanying soul-soothing spells. Another thing we’re really excited about is that all recipes in this book are cruelty-freeand 100 percent vegan!

Our shared belief that we could all use more love in our lives, a (re)connection to nature, and a chance to relax inspired us to create this book of spells, or grimoire, to help bring more contentment into your life. Now, go out there, turn off your
cell phone, breathe deeply, and get your green witch on.

So Mote it Be!!!

CHRIS YOUNG

Chris believes all plants are magical. He is a lifelong gardener whose acclaimed garden, Tiny Sur, is a certified wildlife habitat, which boasts thousands of online followers. He was lucky enough to meet a green witch when he was young who taught him about the magical properties and uses of many plants. These teachings along with his own research have led this former Comedy Central executive to create this book. His garden writing has been featured in such publications as Martha Stewart Living, Country Living, and Huffington Post. Chris’s interactive children’s book Is That a Fairy? was published by Storypanda.

SUSAN OTTAVIANO

Artist, performer, and songwriter Susan Ottaviano’s career has taken her from the recording studio as the lead singer for the band Book of Love to the photo studio as a food stylist for clients like Bon Appétit and Grey Goose. Along with her partner in 2 Green Witches, Chris Young, she’s thrilled to share her magical world of flora and fauna in this book.

“Imagine yourself calmly strolling through a beautiful flower-filled garden with the gentle sounds of birds singing, and bees and butterflies dancing from flower to flower. Perhaps there is an old apple tree heavy with ruby red apples. There are herbs such as basil, parsley, and rosemary growing along the path, and the scent of lavender and jasmine fill the air. You can’t help but breathe in all the sweet smells. A small pond is home to water lilies and little fish, with fairy-like dragonflies darting about. The garden is so peaceful. You might say it’s enchanted. And it is! Let it enchant you. Slow down. Stop and smell the roses, literally. What if you not only smell the roses, but you also touch and really observe them? While you’re there, what if you become very still and listen to all the sounds around you? You would be experiencing “magical mindfulness.” Let Chris and Susan, your two new green witch friends, teach you to use elements you find there to make magical spells and harness the power that lies within your garden!
